Early Divorce Influences Parent-Child Relationship

Recent research suggests divorce has a greater influence on child-parent relationships if it happens in the first few years of a child's life. Individuals whose parents got divorced while they were between birth and three to five years old were more insecure about their current relationships with their parents compared to those whose parents divorced after childhood. Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, June 2013
